It’s #TBT right? A little over a month ago @kenzitrichel and I had the privilege of speaking at Yale...AGAIN!
A message from @ashdgil
When I challenge people to stretch themselves or gently push them to move past their fears I often there, "I just cant do that" or "I'm not like you, Jameela. I'd be scared." I say back to them, "Hell, I'm not like Jameela. I be scared too!" Hahaha!
"Who told you that?" That question began as a joke in college between a friend and I to slick fact check things people would tell us.
So mixed feelings post. Outside is open...but it’s kinda not. I urge people to continue to take precautions because I believe COVID is real. My family has been directly effected by COVID. I say all that to say that being outdoors is healing. The weather is warming up in the great state of Arkansas and outside is the place to be. Walking outside can help with minimizing symptoms related to anxiety and depression. Vitamin D also impacts the mood in a positive manner. Wear a mask if you need to, walk to the end of your driveway or simply sit on your porch but for the love of Bob, go outside!
Let me tell y’all something off top, this puzzle is missing some pieces. I know this because I couldn’t complete the edges 😩😩 I spent A LOT of time looking for pieces to a puzzle that literally wasn’t there in the box. How often do this, look for the perfect piece to our life puzzle, try to force fit pieces that don’t go together, OR simply give up because we cannot find a piece of the puzzle we’re looking for 😒😒 My love for puzzles come from my childhood. As an adult I see how they teach me patience, the beauty of moving on and being able to respect the pieces I’m given to work with.
